He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore "Ted" Beitz and Bertha "Bert" Beitz; his wife Geri; and his sister Eugenia. He is survived by: his children, Richard (Valerie), Katherine Jerome (George), David (Harriett) and Timothy (Debbie); his sisters, Sylvia, Marilyn and Dorothy; and his sisters-in-law, Marjorie and Sharon. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; and 9 great‑grandchildren.
