He is survived by: his wife Brenda Whelan of Hartsel, CO; his brother Pat Whelan of Scottsdale, AZ; his siblings' children, Mikel and Megan; his brother Tom Whelan of Spokane, WA; his nephews, Dan and Riley; his sister Peg Knox (Doug); his nephews, Tim and Matthew; and his stepdaughters, Adria Riley (Robert) and Erin Olofson (Erik). He is also survived by 4 grandsons.
