He was predeceased by: his mother Gertrude Smith (Webel); his sister Bette Lou Smith (Tanton); his in-laws, Roy and Dorothy Burns; his sister Bette Lou Tanton; his brother-in-law Wesley Roy Burns; his nephew Matthew James Ellsworth; and his grandchildren, Craig Michael Sutton, Joseph Kenneth Ventura and Eileen Catherine Smith.
He is survived by: his father Frederick Arthur Smith; his son Kevin Robert (Katie); his wife Doris; his children, Karen Sutton (Don), Stephen Smith (Mary Ann), Jeffrey Smith (Linda) and Kathryn Chaney (Jason); and his sisters-in-law, Suzan Simons (Garry) and Marti Burns. He is also survived by his 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
