He was predeceased by : his parents, Frank Smyle and Katherine Smyle; his son Lavene Smyle Jr. (Beanie); his son-in-law Bill Wolford; and his siblings, Sharon Steiner, JoAnn Ledeman and Jerry Smyle.
He is survived by : his former life partner Kay Moser; his wife Betty Smyle; his children, Brian Smyle (Naomi), Lisa Rice (Howard) and Kyla; his stepchildren, Bonnie Steely Montrose (Mike) and Billy Frey (Theresa); his grandchildren, Landon, Jacob, Kayson Wolford, Brianna Navis (Connor), Brooke, Katie, Jared Walter and Jaycee Gillund (Spencer); his stepgrandchildren, Christopher Hickel (Amra), Anthony Rice (Courtney) and TJ Steely (Trisha); his great grandchildren, Avalon and Vienna Navis; his stepgrandchildren, Braxton, Benjamin, Sophia Hickel, Zane, Dallin, Ezuri and Kade Steely; his siblings, Yvonne Moen, Ilene Dobner, Evelyn Symanowski (Gary) and Frank Smyle; and his siblings-in-law, Joanne Smyle and Ken Steiner.
