He was predeceased by: his father Richard Wingate; his grandparents, Eugene, Margaret Mullens, Adeline Wingate, Vernon and Frances Viergutz; and his former wife Brenda Wingate.

He is survived by: his mother Deborah Wingate; his children, Lisa Eller Johns (Erick), Daniel, Dylan Wingate, Scotty Shay and Logan Shay (Kyle); his grandchildren, Trinity, Orion Johns and Hayden Wingate; his sister Danielle Embree (Sean); his sibling's children, Tea and Sean Embree; his aunt Cathy Mullens; his uncle Eric Mullens; and his close friend Cami Mestas.
