It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gailen E. Evett of La Junta, Colorado, who passed away on December 23, 2025, at the age of 67, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald "Pete" Evett and Martha Evett (Piatt); his brother Jerry Evett; and his parents-in-law, Lloyd and Judy Mueller.
He is survived by: his wife Tammy Evett of La Junta, CO; his children, Ashley Petty (Chantz) of Sugar City, CO and Chad Evett of Van Nuys, CA; his grandchildren, Bailey, Shianne and Wade Petty of Sugar City, CO; his sisters, Deborah Pointon of Denton, TX and Deora Burns of Cedar Falls, TX; his siblings-in-law, Buddy Mueller (Karey) of La Junta, CO, Rocky Mueller (Brenda) of Swink, CO, Debbie Evett and Irene Sisneros; his aunts, Lena Piatt of La Junta, CO and Margie Piatt of Rocky Ford, CO; his uncle Glenn Enderud of Pueblo, CO; and his pet Annie. He is also survived by numerous nieces & nephews, & lifelong friends also survive as well as his family.
