He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Canaday and Rachel Canaday (Deputy); his former wife Debbie Babb; and his brothers, Tommy and Bobby.
He is survived by: his children, Leah Meister, John Canaday Jr. (Tiffany) and Dr. Nathan Canaday (Mallory); his grandchildren, Danielle, Gavvain, Andi, David, Caleb and Nora; his fiancée Anita Kuhn; and his sister Kathy Russell (Ronnie).
Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 29th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Peacock Memorial Chapel (109 E. 4th Street, La Junta, CO 81050). A funeral service was held on Thursday, October 30th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the First Church of the Nazarene of La Junta (1111 W 10th St, La Junta, CO 81050). A burial was held on Thursday, October 30th 2025 from 11:15 AM to 11:45 AM at the Fairview Cemetery (402 Potter Dr, La Junta, CO 81050).
