He was predeceased by : his parents, Johnny Mae Petty and Joseph A. Poitier, Sr.. He is survived by : his wife Mary Poitier of La Junta; his children, Joseph Poitier III of La Junta and Antoinette Glymp (Samuel) of Pueblo; and his siblings, Frank Poitier of Tampa Florida, Fredrick Jackson of Miami and Mary. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
