He was predeceased by : his son Billy Tapia of La Junta. He is survived by : his wife Lucy; his son Rick Tapia (Stephanie) of Pueblo, Colorado; his grandchildren, Tara Tapia, Tyson Tapia, Kayla Tapia and Selena Tapia; his great grandchildren, Arianna Tapia, Rico Ramirez, Joseph Tapia, Jaelynn Tapia, Jazlynn Tapia, Nico Tapia, Levi Trujillo, Daymien Del Rio, Aaliyah Del Rio and Zayden Tapia; and his siblings, Marcella Gutierrez, Abe Gutierrez, Arthur Gutierrez (Alma) and Salvador Gutierrez (Lupe). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
