He was predeceased by: his parents, William P. Howe and Tena Van Howe (Vander Meer); and his siblings, Bernie (Clara), Millie Vos (Don) and Ron.

He is survived by: his significant other Marilyn (Deckinga); his sons, Steve (Gail) of The Woodlands and Tim (Debbie) of Broomfield Colorado; his grandsons, Ryan Van Howe of Bakersfield and Tyler Van Howe (Lauren) of Houston; and his stepgrandson Jon Hernandez (Chandra) of Littleton, CO.. He is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces.

Visitation was held on Thursday, May 29th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Darrell Howe Mortuary (1701 W South Boulder Rd, Lafayette, CO 80026). A funeral service was held on Friday, May 30th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Rocky Mountain Presbyterian Church (4097 Main St, Westminster, CO 80031).
