He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew Smith and Lily Smith (Sutton); and his brother Clive. He is survived by: his wife Jill Smith; his daughters, Carrie Glassburn and Marion Batayte; his son-in-law Dustin Batayte; his grandchildren, Nathan Batayte and Erin Glassburn; his sister Jean O'Neill; and his stepdaughter Cori Jo Watson.
Although Alzheimer's took a lot from him, and from those who loved him, it never diminished his kindness, gracious spirit, or loving heart.
