He was predeceased by: his parents, Olivia "Lee" Primavera and Selori Aguila. He is survived by: his pets, Zoo, Wild and Dentistry; his sister Sharon Armstrong; his former wife Marcie; his children, Gina, Joni, Anthony and Joseph; his grandchildren, Rick Raney and Juliette Emily; and his great grandchildren, Jonah, Joshua and Joseph.

Over the course his sixty-three year career he has lectured nationally and internationally on six continents and received multiple national and international awards for his contributions to veterinary dentistry.
