He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Lester and Lois Catherine Washburn (Guy); and his stepchildren, Jim Brown, Rob Brown, Terry Brown and Debbie Brown.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Washburn; his stepgrandchildren, Courtney Brown Garlett (Trey), Heather Davis (Bob), Robbie Brown (Melissa), Heather Page (Justin) and Billy Costello (Norene); and his sisters, Cathy Hopper (Denny) and Judy Harling (Doug). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, other family and a host of friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lamar Area Hospice either direct or in care of the funeral home office.
