He was predeceased by: his parents, Eli Franklin and Eva Marie Spitzer (Colebourn); his children, Randy "Stretch" Spitzer and Cynthia West (Jay); and his siblings, Harold Spitzer, Lloyd Spitzer, Robert Spitzer, Mary Chatham, Edwin Spitzer, Clyde Spitzer, Richard Spitzer, Thelma Schibbelhut, Lola McElroy and Norma Lou Boggio.
He is survived by: his wife Florence "Flossie" Spitzer; his son Gregory Spitzer (Kelly) of Wiley, CO; his daughter-in-law Clara Spitzer of Walsh, CO; and his children, Eldon Hays of Winterpark, CO, Eric Hays (Mary) of Winterpark, CO, Lee Hays (Chris) of St. Helen, OR and Mellisia Williams (Jason) of Keni, AK.. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and a host of friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Bent County Health Care Center and/or Arkansas Valley Hospice either direct or in care of the funeral home.
