It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Luella (Mathis) Leach (Lamar, Colorado), who passed away on December 31, 2019, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Speer and Alice Speer (Squire); her former husband Ernest Mathis; her husband Nathan Leach; her siblings, Leland Speer, John Speer, Eva Anderson and Opal Conley; her son-in-law John Bates; and her grandson Shane Nordyke.

She is survived by: her daughters, Stella Bates of Granada, Allie Mathis of Vancouver and Judy Nordyke of Holly, Colorado; her sister Della Jenkins of Idaho; and her sister-in-law Jo Speer of Lakin, Kansas. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, twenty-seven great grandchildren, thirty-two great-great grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Holly Fire and Ambulance and/or Lamar Area Hospice in care of Valley Memorial Funeral Chapel, P.O. Box 950, Lamar, Colorado, 81052.
