He was predeceased by: his parents, Guy G. Gilbert and Vivian Gilbert (McClain); his wife Mary Ann Gilbert; and his sister Eleanor Gilbert. He is survived by: his children, Alan Gilbert of Fort Lupton, CO and Karen Akers (Randy) of Castle Rock, CO; his grandchildren, Justin Gilbert, Megan Gilbert, Lindsay Gilbert, Travis Akers (Jacque) and Cassandra Freeman; his great grandchildren, Anjelica Akers, Christian Akers, Gavin Hewitt and Isaac Hewitt; and his great great grandchild Delilah Akers-Inglese. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and a host of friends.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Lamar Area Hospice either direct or in care of the funeral home office.
