She was predeceased by : her parents, Harvey Smith and Minnie Eve Smith (Hubert); her son-in-law Johnnie Appel; her siblings, Dale Smith and Louise; and her brother-in-law John Phillips.

She is survived by : her husband Eugene Southard; her children, Joyce Appel of Bertram, TX and Warren Silliman of Leander, TX; her stepchildren, James Southard, Doug Southard (Sheila), Naomi Ledesma (Rick) of Lamar, CO and Tammy Southard of Cripple Creek, CO; her sister-in-law Ilene Smith (Patsy Schwartz) of Grand Junction, CO; and her friends, Tami and Lee Gonzales of Lamar, CO.. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

In lieu of flowers the family respectfully request for donations to go to the Lamar Area Hospice either direct or in care of the funeral home office.
