It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Larry Johnston of Las Animas, Colorado, who passed away on September 13, 2025, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Johnston and Louise Johnston (Leckenby); his parents-in-law, Maynard Steckel and Katherine Steckel; his brother-in-law Mike Stepanick; and his nephew Chris Heffley.
He is survived by: his wife Kathy Johnston; his sons, Brian Johnston (Seventhia) and Mark Johnston (Tracy); his grandsons, Derek (Kasey), Chad (Maddie) and Matthew (Serena); his great grandchild Teagan; his brothers, Harlan (Michele), Lyle (Toni) and Gary (Mariann); and his siblings-in-law, Barbara Fenner (Bob) and Robert Steckel (Brenda). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 23rd 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Wesleyan Fellowship Church of Las Animas (546 Locust Ave, Las Animas, CO 81054). The inurnment will be held on Tuesday, September 23rd 2025 at the Las Animas Cemetery (28082 Co Rd 10, Las Animas, CO 81054).
