It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Susie Martinez of Las Animas, Colorado, who passed away on December 8, 2025, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Benny Sandoval and Zenaida Sandoval; and her brother Benjamin. She is survived by: her husband Cruz Martinez; her children, Marian (Jim), Trinity and Christopher; her grandchildren, Lily, Brandon, Matthew, Emma, Kira and Taya; her great grandchild Ariyah; and her siblings, Teresa and Raymond. She is also survived by numerous Godchildren, nieces & nephews.
A prayer will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the St. Mary's Catholic Church of Las Animas (650 Elm Ave, Las Animas, CO 81054). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Ft. Lyon National Cemetery (15700 Co Rd HH, Las Animas, CO 81054).
