She was predeceased by: her parents, Pete Schleining and Lydia Schleining; her husband Richard Decker; and her siblings, George Schleining, Bobby Schleining, Mary Reinert and Helen Gilman.
She is survived by: her sisters, Dorothy Battaglia and Janet Liard; her children, Brad Decker (Sol), Lori Thomas (Barry) and Larry Decker (Naomi); her grandchildren, Caleb Thomas (Sammi), Hannah Halpern (Evan), Nicholas Decker, Thomas Decker, Haruka Takeyasu, Yugen Takeyasu and Kouta Decker; and her great grandchildren, Henry Steele Thomas and Nora Louise Halpern.
Viewing was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Denver Mortuary (12801 W 44th Ave, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Denver Mortuary Chapel (12801 W 44th Ave, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033). A committal service was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM at the Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery (12801 W 44th Ave, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033). A reception was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM at 2200 Youngfield St, Lakewood, CO 80215.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Rocky Mountain Down Syndrome Association in memory of Arlene and in honor of her eighteen-month old great granddaughter, Nora Louise Halpern.
