He is survived by: his children, Lieutenant Colonel Christian Thompson (Michelle) of Olympia, Anne Allen (Josh) of Jenkins, Lance Thompson (Shawn) of Fort Collins and Amanda Himes (Samuel) of Littleton, Colorado; and his sisters, Nancy Crook of Great Bend and Cathy Knaus of Bandera, Texas..
