Kris Malcom Vogt Obituary

Kris M. Vogt, 68, of Littleton, Colorado, passed away in August 2026. He was found at his home on August 4, 2026.

Kris was a veteran of the United States Air Force. During and after his service, he developed a deep interest and strong aptitude for technology and computers—an area in which he was sharp, capable, and ahead of his time.

After leaving the Air Force, Kris’s work and curiosity took him aboard a research ship that traveled to Antarctica. There, he worked alongside scientists and supported important research efforts. His intelligence, resourcefulness, and technical ability were qualities that stood out to those who knew him.

Kris also carried forward his mother’s love of animals. Throughout his life, he rescued and cared for animals, including exotic animals, showing a genuine compassion for creatures that needed a home or care.

Kris was friendly, intelligent, and distinctly independent. In later years, he lived a private life, while still corresponding with family when opportunities arose. He believed that little should go to waste and that almost anything could have a future use. His practical, unconventional outlook and eccentric tastes were part of what made him uniquely Kris.

He is survived by his brother, James Vogt; his nephew, Vinson Paul Lilly; and his nieces, Schona R. Royal, Mallory J. Bates, and Katherine Rose Dalrymple.

Kris will be remembered for his intelligence, technical curiosity, compassion for animals, independent spirit, and the distinctive way he saw value and possibility in the world around him.
