It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Barbara (O'Kelley) Hodges (Longmont, Colorado), born in Cushing, Oklahoma, who passed away on April 4, 2026, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. Barbara (“Barb,” “Bobbie”) S. Hodges was born July 11, 1937, in Cushing, Oklahoma, to Marvin and Ella O’Kelley. She passed away peacefully on April 4, 2026.
After graduating from Cushing High School in 1955, Barb moved to Salina, Kansas. She attended business school there and met Kin Hodges. They married on July 26, 1959, and built a life focused on family, faith, and hard work.
In 1964, Kin’s Air Force career brought the family to F.E. Warren Air Force Base in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Cheyenne soon became home. Barb cared for children as a daycare provider, then worked as a Singer Sewing Machine sales manager and teacher. They lived in Cheyenne for many years before moving to Oklahoma in 2005.
In 2013, Barb moved to Colorado to be closer to family. She loved teaching her great-granddaughters to sew and crochet.
Barb’s Christian faith guided her life. She enjoyed simple things like sharing stories, crafting, and spending time with loved ones.
Barb was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Ella O’Kelley, and her siblings Kenneth O’Kelley, Marvin O’Kelley Jr., Wayland O’Kelley, Valda Butler, and Howard “Pete” O’Kelley.
She is survived by her children, Kinnetha (Mitch) Dunn of Longmont CO and Rick (Lori) Hodges of Kellyville OK; her grandchildren Jenette (Tylar) Keese, Aaron Dunn, Leslie (Kyle) Wrobetz, Tabitha (Brian) Steele, Felicia Hodges, and Lucy Hodges; and her great-grandchildren Dayna Dunn, Ayriel Dunn, Brianna Keese, Addison Keese, Madoc Wrobetz, Matthew Steele, Eric Steele, and Haven Dunn.
A celebration of life will be held in July. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to your local senior or hospice center, or to the American Heart Association.
