“Pam, Lon & families, I was saddened to see that your Dad/Grandpa had passed away. 96 is getting right up there, but no matter how old or how sick your Dad was, it doesn't lessen the sadness & shock of losing him. Your parents are in many of my childhood memories. I had so many good times in your home. I am going to limit myself to sharing a few, but I could fill a book with how much I enjoyed my time with your parents. I think my favorite memory of your folks was curled up together, on that wrap-around couch on !0 Avenue, watching Johnny Carson each night. They were so in love & always such good friends. Now that we've all raised teenagers, we realize what an amazing thing it is to be so fond of each other at the end of the day!! I remember the lilac pink Starfire Oldsmobile that they drove, Nipper, the dog, that got hit in the eye with a golf ball, your Mom's terrific cooking...her Chocolate Cherry Cake especially comes to mind. I remember you guys all sitting at the table playing Racko. My folks weren't big game players, so I was thrilled that you guys included me in many of those games. I was so taken with that game, that I bought one to play with my boys & ,now, with my grandson. None of them seemed to be as excited about that game as you guys were & I continue to be. I remember so many fun afternoons hanging around upstairs in Gambles, making houses out of all the big packing boxes. And who could forget the fabric samples. Ruth Zachau was visiting this Summer. She & I both commented on how much fun we had @ Gambles & with all those fabrics swatches. Both of your parents were like my second parents. I would like to send a memorial to Golden K Kiwanisin memory of your folks. Could you possibly send me the address? My mailing address is P.O. Box 2150, Havre, MT 59501. Thx!! I will remain grateful that your Mom, Dad, Rod & your Grandma were always such a special part of my childhood. I have many wonderful memories.
