He is survived by: his sons, Robert Gavin Haskell of Raleigh, NC and David Hugh Haskell of Austin, TX; his wife Diana Calverley Queen of Bethesda, MD.; his brother Richard Haskell of Anchor Way, FL; his stepchildren, Katherine Queen of Raleigh, NC and Bradley Queen; and his stepgranddaughter Alice Queen of Boulder, CO..

In recognition for his contribution to establishing the Eighth Coast Research Station, Haskell Glacier, was named for him.
