John Jay Gathman Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Jay Gathman (Longmont, Colorado), who passed away on March 9, 2026, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

Though John Jay may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those John Jay touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd (Mildred Gathman) and Arrowsmith; his niece Amy Gathman; and his nephew Dannon Mishler. He is survived by: his wife Linda; his son Christopher of Greeley; and his siblings, Nancy Jones (Bill) of Springfield, MO and Frank Gathman of Severna Park, MD.. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
