“It seemed impossible to meet with Mike without hearing at least one good story, and I appreciated the generosity with which he leant his advice and experience over the years. He greatly admired his family and was so proud of each of his sons, and when we last spoke, he was excited to be enjoying his "new 50s" after wrapping up some longer assignments. Mike, I wish I were saying this at a different sort of retirement, but thank you for all of the earfuls. I always suffered them gladly.”
