He is survived by: his sister Madlyn; his wife Madlyn; his children, Sam Sr. (Carri), Diane Taylor (Bryan), Yvonne Roberson (Murray) and Liane Erickson (Todd); his grandchildren, Sammy Jr., Cayle Montanez, Amber Brown, Melissa Chavez, Mindy Powers, Terra Arzberger, Tristan, Logan and Ashton Erickson; his great grandchildren, Leigha, Elijah, Selena, Kylie, Devonte, Michael, Isaiah, Violet, Brycen, Ava, Emery, Christopher, Tiago, Anthony, Marcus, Jacob, Sienna and Mila; his great great grandchild Forest; his sisters, Carol and Gloria; his granddaughter Ashley Roberson; Angel. He is also survived by his children and grandchildren, hunting with his son, grandsons, nephews and brothers, fishing with his daughters, grand daughters, nieces and sisters.
