He was predeceased by : his parents, Robert Montgomery and Ione Montgomery (Trees); his siblings, Ivan, Aurel and Ruth; his son Phillip; and his grandson Teague Montgomery.

He is survived by : his wife Clara L. Hibbs of Loveland, Colorado; his children, Jane, Joann of Loveland, Colorado and David; his daughter-in-law Cindy of Eudora, Kansas; and his sister-in-law Jeanette Montgomery of Sabetha, Kansas. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Monty asked that memorial contributions be made to Bristol Hospice and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
