He was predeceased by: his parents, Leroy Short and Nancy Short (Lee); his daughter Angie Klag (Kevin); his son-in-law Alvin Sellmer; and his great grandchild Thaddeus Sellmer.

He is survived by: his wife Carol Harding; and his daughters, Ginger Lockwood (Frank) of Longmont, CO and Lisa Kreutz (Bob) of Loveland, CO. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren.
