It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard Daniel Shannon of Montrose, Colorado, born in Chicago, Illinois, who passed away on February 28, 2026, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Dorothy and James; and his brother Jim. He is survived by: his sisters, Joan and Jeanne of San Diego, CA; his wife Maureen of Montrose, CO; his children, Kathy Maness (Mike) of Broomfield, CO, Mike Shannon (Brandy) of Cheyenne, WY and Kelli Shannon (Kris Kazlauskas) of San Diego, CA; his grandchildren, Kailey, Jackie, Ryan Maness, Josh Zimmerman, Herbie, Abby Legg, Bebe Shannon, Jonas, Jakob, Natalie and Lauren Kazlauskas; and his nibling England.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to HopeWest Hospice or St. Mary's Catholic Church.
