He was predeceased by: his parents, Alta Gobble and Harold O. Purvis; and his siblings, Virginia, Paulina, Betty and Melvin.
He is survived by: his wife Yvonne Carolene Swarts; his children, David Jr. (Teresa), Jeff (Linda), Kevin and Tina (Bill); his grandchildren, Aaron, Justin, Marissa, Linnae, Tyler and Dianna; and his great grandchildren, Austin and Vivian.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, a cause that David supported passionately.
