He was predeceased by: his parents, Royal Monroe and Grace Monroe; his wife Taneko; and his siblings, Anna Margaret, Kirby, Lynn, Carroll and Norman.
He is survived by: his children, Sarah Monroe of Colorado Springs, Roy Monroe (Nita) of Walsenburg, Susan Monroe of Colorado Springs and Margaret Dereus (Greg) of Ft. Collins; and his sister Helen Thomas of Hanover, IN.. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren.
