He was predeceased by: his wife Martha Abeyta; his parents, Alfonso Avila and Mary Avila; and his siblings, Sam Avila, Alfredo Avila, William Avila, Alice Montoya, Madeline Avila and Mary Avila.
He is survived by: his brother Leo Avila. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews; extended family and friends.
