He is survived by: his wife Harlean "Tinker" Hurt; his children, James D. Hurt Jr. of Pueblo and Karri J. Hurt of Thornton, Colo.; his grandchildren, Chris Rooney (Kacey), Amanda Atencio and Ashley Rooney; and his great grandchildren, Edyson Rooney and John Blayz Medina. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
