With sadness, we share the passing of Jerrell Jerome Horton of Pueblo, Colorado. Jerrell, born on December 23, 1940, passed away on August 7, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Family, friends, and acquaintances remember Jerrell for his warmth, thoughtfulness, and the moments shared together. While he will be deeply missed, the influence he had on the lives around him remains. Loved ones will reflect on the time spent together. Jerrell’s memory will live on in the hearts of friends and family, a lasting reminder of the connections and experiences he brought to the world.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester "Chet" Horton and Dorothy Horton (Rice); his aunt Pat; and his uncle Ted. He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Kay Miller; and his children, Jerry Lee (Tammie Horton) of Manhattan, Kansas, Tina (Bob Vincent) of Lakin, Kansas, Shawn (Dana Horton) of Palco, Kansas, Christopher (Amber Ray) of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Maranda Ray (Kayle DeVaughan) of Pueblo, Colorado. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Montgomery & Steward Funeral Directors where they will be donated in his name to the local Independent Order of Odd Fellows and to Compassus Hospice who cared for Jerry with extraordinary kindness during his final weeks.
