He was predeceased by: his wife Rita Lovato; his son Gabriel Lovato; and his grandson Aaron Gabriel Lovato. He is survived by: his great grandchild AJ Lovato Jr.; his grandchildren, Chris Villanueva, Dominic Vigil, Janell Duran, Rebecca Leyba (Bill) and Aviana Calderon; his siblings, Eva Roybal, Terry Benavidez (Chris), Mary Jean Vaca (Jesus), Luciano Madrid and Gilbert Madrid (Mary); and his nephew Ernesto Chavez (Mercedes).
A memorial service was held on Saturday, August 9th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Memorial Talk Aug. Visitation was held on Saturday, August 9th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at 1200 Acero Ave, Pueblo, CO 81004. Viewing was held on Monday, August 11th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Romero Family Funeral Home (110 Cleveland St, Pueblo, CO 81004). A graveside service was held on Monday, August 11th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Imperial Memorial Gardens (5450 West St #78, Pueblo, CO 81005).
