He was predeceased by: his parents, Douglas Larkins and Esther Larkins (McCormick); his siblings, Eunice Jordan, Jack Larkins, Wayne Larkins, Douglas Larkins, Stanley C. Larkins, Carmie Daily and Jacqueline Larkins; and his son-in-law Richard Rucker.

He is survived by: his children, Larry Layton Larkins Jr. (Tiffiny), Stanley Warren Larkins (Marci) and Cheryl Dawn Larkins (Richard Littig); his brothers, Kenneth Larkins and Gary Larkins; and his grandchildren, Joseph, Nicholas, Ryann, Mathew, Corben, Andrew, Kaitlyn, Elizabeth, Mary, Nancy, Thomas, Felisha, Richard, Samantha, Linda and Douglas. He is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family.
