He was predeceased by: his parents, Apolonio Garcia and Beatriz Montoya Garcia; his former wife Rosana Garcia; his wife Ruth "Rita" Garcia; his children, Margie Sandoval, Alex Garcia, Roger Martinez and Billy Martinez; his grandchildren, Shannon Dova Martinez and Demcy Romero, Jr.; and his brother Rubel Garcia.
He is survived by: his children, Eva Arellano (Bernard) of Pueblo, CO, Jerry Garcia of Mora and Jovita Romero (Demcy) of Mora; his great great grandchild Leilani Rose Castillo; his sisters, Mary Jane McNabb of Albuquerque and Jenny Gallegos of Mora; his adoptive son Ronnie Vigil; and his close friend Renee Hedinger. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
