He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Ruben Roybal and Mary Frances Zamora (Flakes); and his sister Priscilla Ann Roybal. He is survived by: his wife Maria Montoya; his children, Isaiah R. Roybal, Destiny L. Roybal, Latisha Roybal and Ieesha Roybal; his siblings, Elizabeth Roybal, Joseph Roybal, Tommy Roybal and Rosie; and his stepfather Cleveland Flakes. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces and great-great nephews; extended family and friends.
