He was predeceased by: his parents, Rafael Rizo and Jennie Rizo; and his in-laws, Jesus and Esther Garza. He is survived by: his wife Maria Esther Rizo; his children, Pauline Zaragoza, JJ Aparicio, Tim Rizo (Rose), Jacob Rizo and Alyssa "Alisa" Rizo; his grandchildren, Sophia, Tiago, João and Iroh; and his siblings, Hector Rizo (Elena), Stevie Rizo (Teresa), Rodrick Rizo (Amy) and Michelle Wathern (Glenn). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, extended family.
