He was predeceased by: his parents, Leslie Taylor and Jennie Taylor; his in-laws, James and Katherine Ottino; his brother Athiel Taylor; and his nephew Tim Taylor.

He is survived by: his wife Madlyn Taylor; his children, Joe Taylor (Rachel), Kathy Higdon (Mark) and Karen Romero (Ernie); his grandchildren, Dan Taylor (Molly), Meghan Taylor, Sarah Taylor (Scott), Rose Holte (Levi), Ernie Romero, Ashley Franklin (Will), Matt Romero and Mark Higdon; and his great grandchildren, Ernie Romero, Liam Franklin and Arthur Holte.
