She was predeceased by: her husband Mark Hunter; her daughter Barbara Ann Bowling Skaggs; her parents, Geronimo "Jerry" Leyba and Sophia Leyba; her siblings, Albert Leyba (Martha), Virginia Leyba, Theodore Leyba (Elaine), Dolores Garbiso (Gilbert), Floyd Leyba and Manuel Leyba; her children-in-law, Victoria Hunter and James Chavez; and her brothers-in-law, George Martinez and Richard Casados.
She is survived by: her children, Daniel Hunter (Crystal), Isaac Hunter, Theresa Smith and Anna Chavez; her grandchildren, Jacob, Gunther (Karissa), Steven, Thomas, Andrew, Madelyn, Chloe, Jonathan (Alyssa), William, Jeremy (Lauren), Natasha, Whitney, Rachel, Gregory, Sara (Eric), Kasandra and Alexandra; her sisters, Gloria Martinez (Jerry) and Margaret Martinez; and her sisters-in-law, Gilda Leyba and Julia. She is also survived by 21 great grandchildren.
A rosary will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM at the Romero Family Funeral Home (110 Cleveland St, Pueblo, CO 81004). A Mass will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart (414 W 11th St, Pueblo, CO 81003). A burial will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Roselawn Cemetery (1706 Roselawn Rd, Pueblo, CO 81006).
