We announce the death of Edward Modesto Vigil of Rocky Ford, Colorado, who passed away on August 20, 2026, at the age of 75. Edward will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Lydia Vigil and Modesto Vigil; his son Ronnie Montoya; his granddaughters, Miriah Vigil and Genesis Mondragon; his siblings, Maria Jacobsen (Dennis) and Leroy Vigil; his brother-in-law Enrique Vasquez; his niece Tracy Saenz (Tiana Vasquez); and his nephew Fabian Vigil.
He is survived by: his wife Lynda Vigil; his sons, Eddie Vigil Jr. (Valerie Lobato) of Rocky Ford and Myron Vigil (Justina) of Rocky Ford; his grandchildren, Julian Vigil, Alissa Ramirez (Alfred Mondragon), McKayla Kiefer (Jermey), Leah Gallegos (Devon), Lynae Vigil (Quenten Rivera), Angelo Vigil (Jesvi Ramirez), Adriana Jaramillo (Brandon Roque), Myraya Vigil, Myron Vigil, Jr. and Alivia Vigil; his great grandchildren, Neveah, Aubrianna, Winter, Izaiyah, Mariana, Luciano, A'laysia, Carson, Sadie, Gemma, Selena, Briana and Ellieana; his godsons, Enrique Vasquez, Jr. and Jason Encinias; and his sisters, Henritta Vigil, Martha Saenz (Mario), Ruby Naveratte (Esequiel) and Lucinda Vasquez. He is also survived by many relatives, friends.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, August 29th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Victorious Church of La Junta (26646 Co Rd 24, La Junta, CO 81050).
