He was predeceased by: his parents, Keiji Hirakata and Toki Hirakata; and his wife Betty Hirakata. He is survived by: his son Michael Hirakata (Ronda) of Rocky Ford; his grandchildren, Clay Hirakata, Toki Hirakata, Nate Hirakata, Nico Contreras and Sofia Contreras; and his sister Tatsuko Sato.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 28th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Valley View Cemetery (27980 Co Rd 20, Rocky Ford, CO 81067).
