She is survived by: her husband Bill Murphy; her brothers, Jim Morgan of Freeport, Billy, John and Donald; her children, Riley Murphy, Molly Stewart (Denny), Kelly Mulvihill (John), Kathy DeShon (Todd) and Morgan Murphy (Kasie); her grandchildren, Brendan Stewart (Haley), Kathleen Stewart, Molly, Meghan Mulvihill, Tucson, Turner, Trevor, Nick DeShon, Tucker, Duncan and Maya Murphy; her sibling-in-law Shirley Morgan; her nieces, Cheryl Ihrig (Mark) and Maureen O'Connor (Tom); her great-nieces and great-nephews, Mark and Morgan Ihrig; her nieces and nephews, Corinne, Broghan and Callaghan O'Connor; Mina Barr (Matt).
As owners of the predominant radio media with a focus on local and regional news, editorials, talk shows, high school sports and FibArk for 41 years, Mary Ellen and Bill were integrated into the business community, and contributed to the cultural development of the area through KVRH sponsorships and promotions, as well as individual contributions to organizations.
