He was predeceased by : his parents, Tomas Valdez and Cleotilde Quintana; his brothers, Luis and Armando; his son Dennis; his son-in-law Art Rodriguez; and his great grandchild Tony.
He is survived by : his half-brothers, Felipe and Donald Valdez; his wife Louisa Valdez (Garduno); and his children, Barbara Pino (Carlos), Sam Jr. Valdez (Debbie), Annette Rodriguez (Art), Loretta Hernandez (Raz), Carla Hernandez (Fidel) and Steve Valdez (Antoinette). He is also survived by 111 Grandchildren: 26 Grandchildren, 61 Great-grandchildren, and 24 Great-Great-Grandchildren.
