David George Whittingham Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David George Whittingham (Steamboat Springs, Colorado), who passed away on January 17, 2026, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

As we bid David farewell, let us not mourn the absence of his physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of his spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For David is not truly gone, but merely transformed, his energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.

He is survived by: his wife Rosemary Whittingham; his daughters, Sara Whittingham (John Langell) and Julie Wright (Kerby Wright); his grandchildren, Sydney, Grace Langell, Ashlyn, Jackson and Carter Wright; and his sister Sally Landis.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made, if desired, to one of Dave's favorite places: the Steamboat Old Town Hot Springs or the Bud Werner Memorial Library in Steamboat Springs.
