He was predeceased by: his wife Wanda McCord; and his brothers, Danny, Roger, Victor and David.

He is survived by: his siblings, Kenneth Thomas, Janice Carman and Gloria Hinrichs; his sisters-in-law, Cheryl Gillespie, Mary Helvie and Kathy Thomas; his stepchildren, Corrina McGegor, Brian Scott, James Bowker, Michelle Bernado and Stacy Bowker (Anna); and his brothers-in-law, Sonny Helvie (Rose), Les Steele (Delores), Don Manhalter and Floyd Helvie. He is also survived by several grandchildren & great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
