As Karen departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. She was predeceased by: her parents, William Herbert (Herb) and Ethel Reed (Cockerill) of Byers, CO; her husband John Ernest Scott; and her granddaughter Samantha Kaye Scott. She is survived by: her sister Kristine Reed of Virginia; her sons, Carroll W Scott (CW) and John Glen Scott (Colonel) of Castle Pines; and her grandchildren, Casey and Demri. She is also survived by many brothers- and sisters-in-law, nephews, and nieces.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Karen's name to the Gifted and Talented Program at Byers High School — a cause close to her heart and a fitting tribute to her lifelong dedication to education.
